Botanic Expedition Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Botanic Expedition app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by REST END LTD. REST END LTD is referred to as the Service Provider.

Information the application obtains

The Application does not collect, log, or store any personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required. If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data, such as your ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted to facilitate network connectivity, but this data is not retained or used for tracking.

Location information

This Application does not collect precise real-time location information about your mobile device through the Service Provider. Any field notes or location-related records you choose to create are intended to remain part of your local app workspace.

Third-party access

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, no such data is shared with third parties.

Opt-out rights

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling it removes the Application from your device. If you contact the Service Provider directly or voluntarily provide information by other means, you may request deletion of that information by contacting peter.mensah.tn6@gmail.com.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them.

Security

Because the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of personal data exposure is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. The Service Provider implements reasonable safeguards to protect systems and any data it holds.

Data retention

Botanic Expedition is designed around local, device-side records. Plant observations, herbarium entries, preferences, notes, and other app content remain available on your device until you delete them, clear app storage, or uninstall the Application. Information voluntarily provided to the Service Provider outside the app is retained only as long as needed to respond to the request, maintain reasonable business records, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Data deletion

You may delete local app records by using available in-app controls, clearing the Application data from your device settings, or uninstalling the Application. For information voluntarily sent to the Service Provider outside the app, you may request deletion by emailing peter.mensah.tn6@gmail.com. The Service Provider will process deletion requests where required by applicable law.

Data breach notification

Since the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving any data you have voluntarily provided, the Service Provider will notify you as required by applicable law.

Changes

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Previous versions of this Privacy Policy will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider at peter.mensah.tn6@gmail.com.

Your consent

If you voluntarily provide information to the Service Provider and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
